Published: 2017 Amy Anne's very favorite book is From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. She reads it all the time, but this time when she goes to her school library to check it out it's not there. No one else had it checked out, instead the librarian tells her that it has been removed from the shelves because a parent complained about it. Amy Anne is horrified that she (and all the other students at her school) no longer have access to that book and the many other books that were also removed from the library because a parent thought they were too inappropriate. She gets together with some of her friends and they create a secret Banned Books Locker Library where kids bring their personal copies of the books that had been banned so that other kids can check them out and read them without getting in trouble. But as the word about the secret library starts to spread, Amy Anne worries that the wrong person will find out about it. This is a great book about censorship and banned books! I really enjoyed reading it, especially during Banned Books Week!
