She starts writing biographies of the animals in the shelter to share out in the community so people will see the kinds of animals they have there and more will get adopted. Gaby also forms a connection with a cat named Feather, who is still recovering after something bad happened to her. When Gaby gets bad news about her mom and bad news about Feather, she has some tough decisions to make. Gaby, Lost and Found is a really great story about a girl who just feels left behind.

Lily has a plan to save up enough money to pay for Lucky to have surgery so he can get his sight back. It is the most important thing to her. Salma decides that she is going to be the first migrant worker to enter the local Blueberry Queen pageant. Change is hard, and not everybody thinks that it's a good idea for Salma to be in the pageant. A Handful of Stars is a beautiful book about friendship. His dad attempted to commit suicide a few months ago but failed. He walks around the house depressed, ignoring his family. Ronney is angry at his dad for giving up on his family and can't understand why he would do something like that. Meanwhile, Ronney's world is turned upside down when his best friend betrays him by dating the girl of Ronney's dreams. If that isn't enough, Ronney also has a young kid following him around and saying that Ronney stole a pair of his pants. This book takes a look at a lot of different issues in the world. He decides he's going to surprise his dad and his new family and fly to Montana and force his dad to spend time with him. When he shows up, he finds that his dad has a super secret job with the government and that his new family says he disappears for days at a time. When Billy finally gets to see his dad, he discovers that there is more to this top secret job than his new family even knows about. Billy finds himself joining his dad and is in for an adventure of a lifetime. This is a great book about families and wildlife that will interest those who love nature and the outdoors. They never had kids and don't seem to understand what it's like to live with one. Charlie is having a hard time fitting in at school, especially with her nasty temper that she inherited from her dad. Luckily, a classmate named Howard is determined to be her friend, no matter how different she is. They make a plan to catch a stray dog for Charlie to keep as a pet. Soon Charlie starts getting to know her aunt and uncle and her life seems to be coming together. But what about her parents? This is a sweet book about a very strong little girl! Soon the kids are spending a lot of time with Zora and getting to know Mrs. Falala. When Mrs. Falala asks Reena to show the stubborn Zora at the fair, Reena feels like her work is cut out for her. All he wants to do is spend time with the kit, who they name Thor. Bat decides that he is going to do whatever he can in order to convince his mom to let him keep Thor. This book was so wonderful.
